- Plaque Text: Our city's "Can Do" attitude is personified by the simplest of gestures: a handshake. These hands symbolize the partnership that exists between the private and public sectors as best illustrated during the twenty-nine years the Central Area Naperville Development Organization functioned in the downtown. Formed in 1972 to address challenges the city was facing, this group of private business people headed by Harold Kester, Bill Luxion, John Prescott, Jim Wehrli, and Warren Wood, forged a working relationship with city government that nurtured the preservation, enhancement, and vitality of the Central Business District.
