Century Walk is quickly becoming one of Naperville's premier attractions in a city that has many such attractions.
So far, there are 11 pieces of artwork depicting Naperville themes downtown.
Two more are in progress and the 14th has just been announced -- a sculpture depicting legendary Naperville teacher Reba Steck's one-room school and meant to represent the history of education in Naperville.
The Century Walk plan calls for a total of 30 pieces of art to be completed by 2006.
Century Walk has a combination of funding sources.
It gets money from the Illinois Arts Council, the city of Naperville's hotel and motel tax and donations from local banks and private donors.
Naperville resident Brand Bobosky is the driving force behind Century Walk. It was his idea for the creation of the artworks, and his hard work and persuasive powers have brought it to where it is today.
He is to be commended for his brainstorming and the persistence to bring Century Walk to fruition.
